🌕 As the Moon meets the Sun in precise Virgo, we’re invited to reset with intention, clarity, and quiet devotion to the details that shape our lives. Virgo, ruled by Mercury, is the archetype of refinement, service, and sacred functionality. This sign encourages us to edit and recalibrate—internally and externally—to craft a life that feels aligned and sustainable. Its magic isn’t loud or showy; it’s found in the methodical steps that lead to growth, healing, and true purpose.
As per all New Moons, this is a beginning/seeding event.
🌟 Like it's co-balancer Pisces, Virgo lies in the trenches of inferiority and humbleness. The supporter, the fixer, the analyst and the perfectionist. Virgo is known to slice and dice in critical vigour, adopting a 'work ethic' met only by Capricorn. The work in Virgo however is in the self (not the projected social self). The need to improve, to better and to be more than it once was.
💡 Being ruled by Mercury (co-ruler to Gemini), the mind will be particularly cranked up. Nothing will be good enough, or correct or exact. That kind of pummelling can be tiring and can chip away at what is already working really well. So be sure to prioritise what can be bettered and see it as an upgrade of self.
The shadow side of Virgo
Virgo’s gifts can become burdens when tangled in its shadow. The need for perfection may masquerade as productivity, leading to overthinking, hyper-criticism, or avoidance under the guise of being "not quite ready."
This New Moon offers a gateway to step out of spirals of self-judgment and into self-respect. It’s a time to honour the imperfect process and find grace within structure. A new beginning doesn’t need to be flawless—it needs to be honest.
The puritan in Virgo is drawn to clean, neat, innocent even. Rating simple over complex and pure over experienced. Yet what is simple, or clean or pure at a subjective level? The purging of outer sins? The ugliness of human nature? It is fairly impossible to separate.
Tapping into its opposite will be the balm of acceptance. Perfection isn't as exacting as it is in Virgo's head. Flow is not a mental process and walking the path of Gods isn't what humans are made for.
Ruler Sun at (o°) Virgo
A New Moon means the Sun will be the same sign. A time for setting intentions, new lines of thought, a new creative actualisation that takes on the qualities of Virgo.
This could be an ideal time to:
Look at one area of your life (which may be the house that o° Virgo falls in for you, and outlining how it can be improved. This could be physical appearance (styling, wellness and exercise), your career and working life, your family home (DIY), your hobbies or your relationships (romantic, family, working).
Mentally gauge how faults can be made better - as in more efficient and streamlined, smoother or less cluttered.
Using communication more as an analytical tool, be that talking, thinking or writing.
Consider how you can support someone or something. It might be at home, at work or in the community.
Put in the work. As a human 'work' sign, Virgo isn't scared to get down and dirty, to mop up messes or deconstruct and reconstruct. This is the energy of doing up vintage cars, of removing the old, worn, damaged and starting again from the ground up.
Think about wellness, health and nutrition (notably the gut and nervous system). Analyse that diet, your daily active routine and the important vitamins and minerals you consume. Are you drinking plenty of fluids? Are you active for at least 30 minutes a day?
Weave it into the house Virgo is in - 11th - can you play sports with friends or join a community group? 6th - Is there a wellness policy at work? 9th - Take a relaxing holiday or study a bit on health and wellness.
New Moon in Virgo aspects to other planets
Square Uranus (1°) in Gemini
Uranus strikes again (or catapults lightning daggers!).
Virgo and Uranus both relate to the nervous system, so let's all be aware of high anxiety levels and of mentally getting hyped up and over-excited. Panic attacks and palpitations to be managed with breathing (lungs in Uranus). In for a count of five, hold for five ad out for 10.
Cautions aside.
Quite the cerebral mix here, being in Gemini. An opportunity to socialise with the unexpected or socially-shocking events. The discernment of Virgo can be opened up somewhat with Uranus, but alas a square can fuel a feud. The nature of which could be the new not being perfect or requiring 'work'.
Can also be insights and breakthrough from any kind of communication including socials.
Trine Chiron RX (26°) in Aries
Trines to Chiron are healing beacons. Beckoning us to face those long-standing pain points and ease their suffering. Our identity is Aries and it's a biggie for sure. While Virgo can really rip into ourselves, lets turn the barbs into blooms. Beauty doth rise from dangerous spaces.
Mercury (Virgo’s ruler) sexile Mars (10°) in Libra
An easy aspect products a chance to channel thoughts into actions. With others more possible, given Mars in Libra. Possibly diplomatic or fair.

Mars in Libra square Jupiter in Cancer: Squares to Jupiter have a tendency to go overboard and ramp things up/exaggerate. If Mars in Libra is people-pleasing, diplomacy and focused on others, you may find yourself being left out in the cold. Balance is needed.
Pluto RX in Aquarius opposite Venus: As Pluto backtracks emotionally, using Aqua's cool-headedness to make sense of its volcanic responses, along comes Venus in Cancer. Venus reminds Pluto of birth, of mothering, or care, of protection, of a home. If Pluto can mentally process, the direct movement could mean those roots it loves to seek, are laid down.

What systems in my life no longer support my growth—and how can I lovingly revise them?
Where am I overthinking or over-editing in fear of imperfection?
What small, sustainable habits would create more emotional and mental spaciousness?
How do I define being “of service”—and am I showing up for myself with the same care I offer others
Rituals to connect with the New Moon in Virgo
Sacred Planning Session: Create a ritual space with calming scents (lavender, rosemary). Journal your intentions as if mapping out a gentle project plan for your inner life. Think: goals, checkpoints, emotional supports.
Clutter Clearing: Choose one space (physical or digital) to declutter. Let it symbolize releasing mental clutter or perfectionist tendencies.
Moon-Infused Herbal Tea: Brew a digestive blend (like peppermint, lemon balm, fennel). Sip under the moonlight or sunrise, connecting to Virgo’s link with gut health and intuitive knowing.
Oracle or Tarot Spread: Ask for insight around what needs simplifying, healing, and prioritizing. Use Virgo-themed prompts like “What detail needs more love?” or “Where am I micromanaging?”
