💡The Meaning of the Full Moon in Libra (Pink Moon)

This month's Full Moon in Libra opposes an army of Aries' planets - Sun, Saturn and Neptune, while Jupiter in Cancer creates a tense square, and Pluto in Aqua indicates that a breakthrough now could be transformational.

As per all Full Moons, this is a completion/culmination/ending event (and part of an eclipse series).

Libra

Libra governs one‑to‑one relating, aesthetics, negotiation and the social contract; under this Full Moon those themes come to a head. Libra’s strength is diplomacy and the capacity to see both sides, which helps craft compromise and restore balance, but the sign also prefers harmony over confrontation and can smooth over problems rather than resolve them. This lunation asks whether the balance you’ve been maintaining is genuine or merely cosmetic, and whether partnerships are reciprocal in practice as well as appearance.

Let's look at the shadow side of Libra.

🌑 The Shadow Side of Libra - You before me

The shadow of Libra shows up as people‑pleasing, indecision, co-dependence and a tendency to prioritise the appearance of peace over structural fairness. When Libra avoids hard choices the result is unresolved resentment.

When it sacrifices self‑sovereignty for the sake of harmony, the scales tip toward passive compliance.

Under this Full Moon those shadows are likely to surface as either a demand for clarity or a collapse into old compromise patterns that no longer serve growth.

🔄 Sun (12°), Saturn (5°) and Neptune (2°) of Aries and the Libra - Aries Axis:

This axis carries extra 'weight' with both Neptune and Saturn sitting opposite and conjunct the Aries purposeful Sun. Despite the Moon being in Libra, there is a definite feeling that a desire needs to catch flame for the 'WE' to become. That the identity of self (who I am in this) will play a central role in the partnership.

Aries energy has to be first, bold, blunt, passionate and self-directing. Libra wants grace, co-operation, politeness, ease and share experiences. In usual relating dynamics we have three options:

  1. One of us gets what we wants (or both if we want the same thing).

  2. We choose a middle ground or agreed upon option that isn't exactly what we want but is acceptable for peace.

  3. Neither of us get anything. We fold or sacrifice.

Anyone in a relationship will understand that getting what we want was something we had when single. The days when we could just do as we pleased without checking if it was ok. Like what colour to paint the living room walls or what to plant outside, or where to eat that day. Strong Arians struggle to compromise.

Libras can co-anything. Love company and sharing and time together. Can happily look at paint colours and decide together or divide the garden up so they each have a place of their own. But it isn't easy. Not if you like what you like, thank you very much.

There are ways and means of ensuring your identity isn't sent to invisible land and it takes much more than compromise. It takes .... listening, seeing another's POV, understanding, adjustment and a sweet sense of peace when fulfillment is achieved.

In my family Dad has the remote pretty much glued to his hand. I have to tell him to give it to someone else, otherwise he chooses everything on TV, every day. Pluto in the house of Aries... sheesh. This is the ultimate 'I want what I want and I'll control whatever and whoever to get it.'

It's ok, my Venus in the house of Aries knows when to direct for the good of all parties. Plus my Aries Moon is pretty good at voicing bluntly so no 'one is in any doubt of the dynamic. This one example is helpful in appreciating how the strengths of both (As opposing as they are) can co-exist. The trick is to lean into one, and use it for the other. So use assertion to help the other, or be straight to aid clarity between you.

But at this Full Moon we have a lotta Aries and it can be loud, unwilling to share, independent AF and super selfish. If only there was a law and order type to settle any wars.

Enter Saturn.

Saturn rules boundaries and commitments. Anything that is long-term and serious, so it kinda feels consequential and potentially binding when teamed with the Sun. That or karmic (or both!) It's the law and order that can pause Aries reckless acts and sustain that fire. It can also be the embodiment of desire in motion. Saturn crystallises, building a secure structure that holds strong like glue.

However, Neptune adds a twist. Where Saturn cements, Neptune allows the sand to drift and disappear. If the desire or the dream isn't a winner, then it will dissipate or fade away. But if the desire is strong and true and the dream one that can be real, Dreams, desires unite!

Let's look at the chart for the Full Moon in Libra

Moon aspects
Moon aspects
All aspects
All aspects

Ruler Venus at (5°) Taurus

We see the Full Moon ruler in fellow Venus-ruled Taurus, a nod to self-worth and self-esteem as a route to bridging the 'I want: We want' front stage event. Empowering ourselves from the inside-out and reminding ourselves that we are worth fighting for.

We might also find that focusing on what we are building as a whole allows for each of us some wiggle room. If the foundation is in place and we are strong then what's a few solo hobbies gonna do. Break us? Not a chance. So we allow for desires to be seen, discussed and activated in motion. Aries learns IN MOTION. And in that act, we become better together because we recognise that each of us stands in their own sovereignty.

Aspects to the Full Moon in Libra

Moon trine Pluto at (5°) Aquarius

It's hard to see a more wonderful sight that Pluto trining. It practically promises that lead will become gold. This is transformation, it's how challenges bring us to the big table. It's the rite of passage 'heaven's gates'.

Did I say you had to walk through hell first?? My bad.

You have to walk through hell first.

With Aries, hell will be a short walk as it loves to speed ahead, so expect some blow outs, tantrums and bickering before you shape that gold bar.

Moon square Jupiter at (15°) Cancer

Jupiter expands cancerian sensitivity, emotions and moodiness. It's the 'ick' in hell as it's tricky to avoid. There could be ugly tears, some eruptive displays, or perhaps a slicking to the cave. Try to keep the emotions present and work through them. Take calming breaks to re-centre and keep central this - you are building better. It takes Aries courage to speak up and say you want to be noticed. For all parties. Use the Saturn to contemplate and re-integrate, hold firm and do the work.
