What if everyone was Elon Musk? - Annular Eclipse at 28°49' mins Aquarius, on 17th February at 12 midday GMT

Not Elon, but close enough.
Not Elon, but close enough.

Air l Fixed l Masculine l Uranus-ruled

We have a partial solar eclipse in Aquarius, emboldening this New Moon in Aquarius.

This Annular Solar Eclipse New Moon in Aquarius acts as an awakener; a catalytic reset that highlights truth, disruption, and collective reorientation.

Symbolically it opens a window for new social experiments, technological pivots, and inner work around authenticity. The lunation’s strongest notes are innovation, truth‑telling, and the pressure to realign personal choices with larger social or ethical commitments.

The square to ruler Uranus (newly direct) in Taurus tells us that the pressure will feel liberating, destabilizing, or clarifying. It is usual with Uranus for events to be unexpected, unforeseen, shocking or highly surprising. And while this can aggravate the nervous system, it can also allow for liberation and freedom from outworn events.

Energetically this is like Elon Musk in everyone - the genius, disrupter and game-changer.

Aquarian themes

We know Aquarians as the zodiac weirdos, iconoclasts and radicals. The ones into science and robotics and intellectually-set. They are unafraid of walking to the beat of their own tin whistle.

💡 Aquarius energy is a cool, electric current that favours the collective over the personal. It thinks in systems, patterns, and networks; it sees people as nodes in a larger field and values ideas that rewire how groups operate. Where other signs ask “Who am I?” Aquarius asks “What could we become together?” and it often answers with experiments, prototypes, and boundary‑stretching inventions. As wonky as it is, Aquarius does enjoy social events and people (albeit more from an observational angle).

🌟 Aquarius prizes intellectual freedom and emotional detachment as tools for clarity. It tolerates paradox, holds multiple viewpoints, and can be ruthlessly honest about social structures that no longer serve. That detachment is not coldness so much as a capacity to step back and redesign: new rules, new roles, new ways of belonging that are less about ownership and more about contribution.

At its best, Aquarius is a visionary organizer: it turns radical ideas into practical networks, builds communities around shared values, and champions the outsider who becomes the future’s architect.

Yet the real crux of Aquarius is liberation from Saturn (representing the traditional). Aqua is the energy that moves us forwards in quantum leaps. It does this by thinking differently, by looking at what's happening ahead (and being an early follower/adaptor) and by separating from the crowd (yet another conflict is that Aqua watches the crowds and works with them, from the outside).

Where Aqua falls in your chart or where Uranus is, is where you are different, authentic, do things your own way, don't follow the crowd, are progressive, kinky and more an observer.

House 2 - You might have jumped on crypto early or bitcoin.

House 7 - Perhaps drawn to polyamorous relationships, long distance or 10+ age gaps.

House 3 - Eccentric thinker and likes to network with unusual groups.

House 10 - Society changers that challenge all societal systems like government. (Me!)

As per all New Moons, this is a beginning/seeding event.

The shadow side of Aquarius

Aquarius’s gift for detachment can harden into emotional aloofness. When the sign’s distancing becomes habitual, people and groups can feel unseen or dismissed; intimacy is sacrificed for ideology. The shadow here is a fixed independence that mistakes isolation for integrity, leaving relationships frayed and empathy undernourished.

Another shadow is ideological rigidity disguised as progressivism. Often times Aqua sees a world of equality, where everyone plays a part and contributes to the whole. No 'one is starving, or lonely or at war. It's a beautiful vision, yet a flawed one IF Aqua cannot see reality as well. If it cannot allow for reality to shape it too.

Aquarius can become a zealot for novelty, discarding anything that looks “traditional” without discerning whether the old form still holds value. This creates a pattern of perpetual reinvention that never allows ideas to mature into stable institutions. In addition, Aqua is the outsider, the alien, the misfit.... known to be weird and odd and strange and dress funny. And this is great for owning one's authenticity and holding that for others to see. It's not so hot when they are only in it for the shock value. To shame the view of others. Aqua is progressive and open and allowing of all, but not everyone else is.

Finally, Aquarius can weaponize truth (rebellion). In its urgency to expose systems and call out hypocrisy, it can flatten nuance and shame those who move more slowly. The result is a culture of public shaming, performative radicalism, or a sense of moral superiority that fractures the very communities it intends to liberate. We must understand that dexterous thinking is Aqua's home. It sees all with chilling sight.

New Moon in Aquarius aspects to other planets

Square Ruler Uranus @ 27° Taurus

This could potentially be a 'test' of stability. Taurus-ruled areas are:

  • Values

  • Resources

  • Finances

  • Self-love/worth

  • Outwardly - farming, food production and crops, the financial market and precious metals.

  • Shock to the status quo. The square creates friction between innovation and habit: new ideas want to be implemented now, while Taurus asks for slow, steady consolidation. That friction can produce breakthroughs or abrupt ruptures.

  • Material and relational recalibration. Taurus governs resources and comfort; Uranian pressure can reveal where security is built on brittle foundations. Financial shifts, sudden boundary changes, or a surprising reconfiguration of who supports you are possible.

  • Collective tech and network surprises. Because Aquarius rules networks and Uranus rules technology, expect viral pivots, platform glitches that force change, or an idea that spreads faster than planned.

🖤 Questions for reflection

  • What collective pattern am I ready to leave behind?

  • Where do I prioritize belonging over individuality, and where do I need to reclaim my voice?

  • What small experiment could I run now that would test a new way of relating or working with others?

  • Who in my network needs a clearer boundary, and who needs an invitation to co‑create?

  • What truth am I avoiding because it would disrupt the group I belong to?

🌿 Rituals to connect with the New Moon in Aquarius

1. Network Mapping Ritual

  • What: On a sheet of paper, draw your current network: close allies, casual contacts, communities, and institutions.

  • How: Circle nodes that feel generative and cross out or lightly shade those that drain. Write one small action beside each generative node (message, invite, collaborate). Commit to one action this lunar cycle.

2. Truth Letter and Release

  • What: Write a short, unsent letter naming one truth you’ve been avoiding in a group context.

  • How: Read it aloud privately, then burn or tear it as a symbolic release. Follow with a grounding breath practice to settle the nervous system.

3. Micro‑Experiment Launch

  • What: Design a one‑week experiment that tests a new way of relating (e.g., a shared ritual, a rotating leadership model, a micro‑volunteer project).

  • How: Define one measurable outcome, invite 3–5 people, run it for seven days, then gather quick feedback. Treat it as data, not destiny.

4. Somatic Reset for Detachment

  • What: A 10‑minute practice to balance Aquarian detachment with embodied presence.

  • How: Alternate 1 minute of fast, seated breath (stimulate the nervous system) with 2 minutes of slow, grounding breath while placing hands on the heart and belly. Repeat three cycles.

5. Digital Sabbath and Idea Incubation

  • What: Choose a 24‑hour window to step away from social feeds and notifications.

  • How: Use the time to sketch ideas, mind‑map future projects, or sit with a single question. Capture insights in a dedicated “Aquarius Ideas” notebook.
