💡The Meaning of the Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces

The Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces occurs on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 19:09 BST, at 15°22′ Pisces.

This eclipse marks a potent moment of culmination, emotional release, and spiritual awakening. As the Moon is fully eclipsed in the sign of the mystic, the veil between the conscious and unconscious thins, inviting us to listen deeply to the whispers of our soul.

We are intuiting and free-wheeling at this eclipse. Nothing is seen, clear or structured. Its a soulful beacon shrouded in mystery.... and yet we must continue. Our souls are in service to a greatness which we are not yet aware. It's time to trust in our souls' collective path and release any need for concrete evidence.

As per all Full Moons, this is a completion/culmination/ending event.

Let's look at the shadow side of the signs and then break things up into more detail.

🌓 The Shadow Side of Pisces

Pisces is the dreamer, the empath, the mystic—but its shadow can be slippery. When unbalanced, Pisces energy may manifest as:

  • Escapism: Avoiding reality through fantasy, substances, or denial

  • Emotional overwhelm: Absorbing others’ feelings to the point of losing oneself

  • Victimhood: Feeling powerless or overly passive

  • Lack of boundaries: Struggling to separate self from others

This eclipse may illuminate where we’ve been drifting, deceiving ourselves, or clinging to illusions. It’s a call to release what numbs us and return to our inner compass.

🔄 The Pisces-Virgo Axis: Humble imperfection

With every Full Moon we have two signs in opposition, asking us to consider the dynamic between them.

This eclipse activates the Pisces–Virgo axis, ruling the 6th and 12th houses.

  • Pisces invites us to trust, feel, and flow.

  • Virgo urges us to refine, organize, and serve.

Virgo relates to the humble worker that serves a greater goal. Pisces is in service to GOD, and the spirit realm. Both understand sacrifice, suffering and aligning with more than themselves.

Virgo, ruled by Mercury analyses all the information given, observing any deemed imperfections. Quietly and meticulously fixing, cleansing, tidying and improving. Some may say this is an act of 'GOD', to restore to a place of perfection.

Pisces, ruled by Neptune is our transcendent impulse. The soul-essence that wisely understands the connection in all things. This knowing respects the natural order, allowing, forgiving and compassionately letting go. Intuitive, sensitive and yearning for a deeper oneness.

In Virgo we see the daily mundane become Pisces's mystical. Habits and rituals that link human and divine. We honour the simplistic, the basic and the virginal, seeing GOD, spirit and soul intertwine without ego-centric actions or desires.

As with all full moons, one learns from the other and can interweave. Virgo discerns where work is needed most, to serve most. Pisces teaches Virgo that perfection is imperfection realised. Intuition meets mind.

Ruler Neptune in Aries (1°) conjunct Saturn (29°) Pisces

The long-standing conjunction between Neptune and Saturn has been happening for months. We are seeing a slight change as Saturn has retrograded back into Pisces (Adding to the Piscean abundance).

As per previous posts, Neptune distorts, fades, dissolves and escapes from. Classically, Aries is our identity and we might be feeling that what has been usual for us, is beginning to slip away. Eroding or crumbling in some way.

Total Lunar Eclipse/ Full Moon in Pisces aspects to other planets

The eclipsed Moon at 15° Pisces forms several key aspects:

Moon conjunct North node (18 Pisces), opposite South node (18 Virgo)

When a total lunar eclipse / full moon aspects the nodal axis, the energy strikes the vein of our evolution. Hitting the north node is a bold step forward, offering us a glimpse of what we are stepping towards. With Pisces the step will be invisible and a move of surrender, faith and possibly sacrifice. We have the chance to heal as we move and the risk of falling under an illusion.

Moon trine Jupiter (19° Cancer)

Two water signs flow seamlessly into each other, motioning us with care, intuition, sensitivity and yearning. We can dream big with Jupiter - a big family, home or bonding. We are fortunate in within our family (blood or non blood).

Moon opposite Mercury (10° Virgo), Sun conjunct

Moon intuits (right brain), while Mercury uses logic (left brain). It is a clash between what we think and what we know without knowing why. That trust requirement is tenfold.

What else is happening?

  • Mars square Jupiter: Optimism and growth through service or learning
