Earth l Fixed l Feminine l Venus-ruled

Taurus new moons seed moments of slow, steady, building, grounding and pleasure hits. Add Mercury and we can expect that our thoughts, data gathering and communications will centre around comfort, security, finances and value.

Add Uranus and fudge, your fave spot has been zapped.

🐚 Taurus themes

🌟 Taurus energy is slow, sensual, patient, and deeply concerned with what is real, sustainable, and nourishing. This sign builds, roots, grows and sustains.

It's seduced by what is tangible, sensory and physical. Prioritising quality, touch and flavour.

As such it can require things to create a sense of self-worth like possessions, money and property.

This lunation invites you to return to your body, your values, your resources, and your sense of inner security. It’s a moment to ask:

  • What am I building, and does it truly support the life I want to live?

As a fixed earth sign, Taurus buries itself (quite nicely, thank you) in a comfortable spot and roots there. It may drink a fine wine or enjoy the mouth-feel of a rather well-cooked steak. It may proudly assess it's 'kingdom' and assets, or consider the value of what it has (and would like). This is a slow sign. A 'don't rush me' sign. A sign that enjoys simple, tangible and physical pursuits. You might imagine a builder or a farmer or an investor. Maybe a wine grower, or a maker of beautiful homes or furniture. Taurus likes to feel the natural earth - soil, wood, stone.

As per all New Moons, this is a beginning/seeding event.

The shadow side of Taurus

Every sign has a shadow, and Taurus’ shadow lies in it's fixed mode and love of comfort.

Jeffrey Wolf Green referred to Pluto in Taurus or 2nd as 'The frog in the well'. Reason being, that the frog is happy where it is, viewing the miniscule patch of sky. So why move or explore? Evolution is forward motion and if that isn't happening, the shadow of Taurus looms large. These are the main shadow factors:

  • Stagnation disguised as stability — staying where it’s safe, even when it’s suffocating or limiting.

  • Attachment to comfort — resisting change because the familiar feels easier than the unknown.

  • Over-identification with material security — believing worth is tied to productivity, money, or possessions. Or what you do.

  • Control through predictability — clinging to routines or people to avoid vulnerability.

This New Moon asks you to notice where you’re holding on too tightly, where you’re resisting growth, and where comfort has become a cage.

New Moon in Taurus aspects to other planets

Conjunct Mercury at (28°) Taurus and Uranus (28°) at Gemini

Having Mercury so close to the Sun and Moon suggests our thoughts are as unhurried and languid as our bodies. This certainly feels like a prime time for enjoying the fruits of our labour. Thoughts drift effortlessly into themes of comfort, security, worth and our finances.

  • What have we built. Is it enough?

  • Are we feeling our worth as high or low?

  • Should we drop for a while and just enjoy it all?

And then Uranus surprises us by zapping our favourite chair! Hey, you can't steal my comfort. He can - the future demands it.

Ruler Venus at (27°) Gemini, sextile Mars at (28°) Aries and square Neptune at (3°) Aries

The Moon's ruler Venus, is in info-gatherer mode. 'She' wants to busy herself with absorbing knowledge, talking things through, socialising, doom scrolling on socials. It is all good.

Too good to be true? Best curb that errant thought. That's Neptune vibes. And this square tells us that all may not be quite what it seems. Are we feeling that we've 'made' it before we have (Aries)?

Mars provides an opportunity in the social realm for pursuing what we desire, but this isn't a picky sign. It's a fast one! Ideal for courage though. And Neptune can distort, blur and create whatever fantasy is wished for. Best check those accounts again and ensure what has been built is 'bricks n' mortar tight'. Oh and investing. Read the fine print. Limit the alcohol and trust what you can see and touch.

What else is going on: Other aspects

Pluto now retrograde at (5°) Aquarius, trine Uranus at (1°) Gemini and Mercury at (28°) Taurus

Pluto has begun the five month dark-dive into the underworld (your psyche).

It's a time of shattering truths and unconscious to conscious disclosures. All primed ready for a Aqua-style intellectual re-frame.

Pluto desires can be bitter and cruel and emotional, so aqua is great for neutralising, stepping back from and running them through a more logical filter. It can also 'accept' the truth better of it aligns with the mind. Sense making is its 'thing'.

Understanding is its ruler.

Pluto may weed out where you've lost your way with friends, groups or communities. It can zap you back to authenticity and ask you to remove where you've lost the connection to who you are at the blue-print level.

It's entangled in that Mercury and with Uranus in Gemini (which is hit by the New Moon). The higher and lower mind. Which only means one thing.... insight bursts (obviously) that permeate the lower mind and the nervous system. You might see what requires realignment in a book passage, or its a movie line. Your friend getting all wise and knowing. Whatever way it comes through, you are going to feel it tilt your system, electrify it or suddenly sense-ify it. And once you 'wake up', there's no going back to sleep. Come October, Pluto will do its work.

Pluto now looks at the kind of future you are creating. Is it right, fair, safe?

Ultimately, it's prepping for a transformation when it goes direct. What are you transforming? Look at where it moves from 5 - 3 aqua in your chart (Create a Natal Chart | Heart Horizon Astro).

  • What am I finally realising I deserve?

  • What part of me is ready to be valued, not hidden?

Stability & Resources

  • What does “true stability” mean for me now — emotionally, financially, relationally?

  • What am I building that will last?

  • Where am I still operating from scarcity rather than trust?

Embodiment & Pleasure

  • What does my body need that I’ve been ignoring?

  • Where can I allow more softness, more pleasure, more slowness?

  • What sensory experiences reconnect me to myself?

Letting Go

  • What am I holding onto out of fear rather than love?

  • What comfort is actually keeping me small?

  • What am I ready to release so something new can grow?

🌿 Rituals to connect with the New Moon in Aries

These are designed to be somatic, grounding, and deeply restorative.

1. The Ritual of Re-rooting

Sit or stand barefoot. Place your hands on your lower belly. Breathe slowly until your body softens. Ask yourself: Where do I need to feel more rooted in my life?

Write down one practical, physical action that would support that rooting. Something small, repeatable, and nourishing.

2. Value Clarification Ritual

Taurus rules values. List your top five values as they are today, not as they used to be. Then ask: Does my current life reflect these values?

Circle the one value that needs more expression. Commit to one aligned behaviour for the next lunar cycle.

3. Pleasure as Medicine

Choose one sensory experience that brings you genuine pleasure like warmth, scent, texture, taste, sound. Let yourself experience it slowly, without multitasking, without guilt. This ritual rewires your nervous system toward safety and receptivity.

4. Release Through the Body

Taurus holds tension in the jaw, neck, and shoulders. Do a slow, deliberate release:

  • Unclench the jaw

  • Roll the shoulders

  • Stretch the throat

  • Breathe into the chest Let the body tell you what it’s been carrying.

Looking at the aspects to planets and points in your own chart will help you see what may effect you - Look at 22 - 29 of the fixed signs (Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius and Leo) and 0 - 3 of the mutable signs (Gemini, Sag, Pisces and Virgo).
