🌕 The Full Moon in Sagittarius will occur on June 11, 2025, at 07:44 BST, at 20°39' Sagittarius. A time of expansion, truth-seeking, and adventure. Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, encourages us to embrace wisdom, explore new horizons, and seek deeper meaning in our lives. This lunation illuminates our desire for freedom, optimism, and personal growth, urging us to step outside our comfort zones and embrace new possibilities.
As per all Full Moons, this is a completion/culmination/ending event.
🌟 Sag's demand the freedom to MOVE. Whether that be in their heads, their bodies or their consciousness. Energetically they are firing forward all the time - never truly present or pausing (in thought, conversation of physically).
💡 If we focus here on meaning, we can tap into Sag's greatest (in my humble opinion as a stellium Sag (Sun, Mercury, Uranus, Neptune, Juno) and strong 9th houser (Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter)) - expression. And we'll dive into this more when we look at the Sag-Gemini axis.
You see, Sag is the energy of knowing, of intuition and of the connection to naturally-occurring laws. Philosophy is simply the candid outpouring of an understanding that has no sequential process (Sag knows, without knowing why or how).
Yet it knows the connection to greatness. It knows we are 'more' than we appear. It explores its own emptiness into fullness by asking questions about existence, about how our lives can be better than the prescribed 'eat, sleep, shit' cycle. Not only does it question, but it moves into quest spaces to experience its own meaningfulness. It travels. It learns and when it is 'full', it teaches.
The shadow side of Sagittarius
While Sagittarius is known for its enthusiasm and adventurous spirit, its shadow side can manifest as:
Restlessness: A constant need for change can lead to lack of commitment. Bear in mind though that this need is fuelled by a knowingness it wishes to experience.
Bluntness: Sagittarius values honesty and the truth (what is more truthful than natural law?!). It detests lies and dishonesty... the vulgarity and ugliness of falsehood. So in a bid to balance things, it can boldly and bluntly share its 'truths'.
Overconfidence: The optimism of Sagittarius can lead to recklessness or overestimating abilities. It is literally 'expansion' and so there is a lean towards exaggeration, extremism and superiority in knowledge.
Running: The need to expand and move is so intense, that the natural need is to run. To leave anything that is staid, or to fill what appears empty.
Recognizing these traits allows us to channel Sagittarius energy wisely, balancing freedom with responsibility.
Sun in Gemini (20°) and the Sag-Gemini axis
With every Full Moon we have two signs in opposition. In this case; Sag and Gemini.
Sag as the truth seeker and explorer of our natural connection to the universe and Gemini as the socialable, curious, local networker. Both use curiosity to learn. Both gain knowledge in feedback (Sag via though, travel and reading, Gemini by conversation and informational downloads).
Gemini is on the ground, using the local environment and community to network, to learn and share, to seek information and to gather until it is overwhelmed and must pause.
Sag is prepared to seek afar with themes must more generalised and broad. Long-distance travel as it teaches them about culture, traditions and contrasts in meaning seeking.
Sag is happy to ponder and think. To saviour what it receives and to enrich itself from within with understanding. Gemini uses the lower brain to think and think and think... to talk and talk and talk and to constantly download data to the brink of exhaustion. It's aim is not meaning and its means is not intuitive knowing. From curiosity it likes to know all. The wonder in the information itself. The objective is all.
The fusion is to merge the local with the universal. The minute and specific with the expansive and broadly-connective. The personal with the interpersonal. Our quest for meaning and truth is as advantageous with a physical neighbour as with a distant stranger.
We may move only a little, but we learn a whole lot.
Sag can gain from personal, close interactions. Gemini can gain from adding meaning to the mundane.
Ruler Jupiter Cancer (0°) conjunct Mercury (4°)
If we wish to advance the understanding of the quest we are completing, then Jupiter in Cancer completes the story. Cancer being the architype of home, our inner sanctuary and our emotional foundation. Our needs, our past, our families and our heritage.
We may want to know the world, but first we must know ourselves.
Who are we at the most personal level?
How can we expand through familiarity?
The journey inwards and the intuitive re-jigging of the self, that fits within the family structure is where we must explore.
With Mercury here too, there is a communication happening. Within our own heads and with our clan. We never leave ourselves and our past is always a part of our present, as well as our future. We never escape the bonds of those close to us.
I travelled and lived abroad for 17 years, only to rekindle 'home' upon my return to the UK. Only to seek the self that had been placed on pause. Only to remember that no matter where I go; here I am. A servant of a generation.
One last thought - Jupiter and Sag are 'joyful', they are fortuneous and lucky. We could grow our 'family' and we could bond expansively, but we can do so with joy and happiness.
Full Moon in Sagittarius aspects to other planets
Square the nodal axis: South: Virgo, North: Pisces @ (23°)
Sag and Gemini and Virgo and Pisces (the mutables) are inter-connecting, making this grand cross wiggly (adaptive). We have the core themes of health and healing, along with the quest locally and universally (with a cherry of meaning).
If we dive deeply in here, we can see that expanding into meaning within (remember Jupiter in Cancer) relates to what we lack (Virgo) and how we heal (Pisces). In essence, NN in Pisces can be utilised as a route to healing. So everything that aspects it, plays a part (if we choose it).
In order to gain from this, let's look at what is under the healing potential:
Ancestral / generational wounds
How we attach meaning from the everyday (and what has been deemed 'meaningless' affecting our health
Spaces we can explore that more internal, that expand our foundation/that lead to a knowingness of self
Using the mutable energy to wiggle in-build self-beliefs and align them with spirit/soul. Neptune/Pisces is transcendence and the ultimate. It's spirit, GOD, how we connect with the divine. Can we connect with the divine within?
Trine to Mars in Leo (26°)
Sag and Leo are two fire signs and a trine is an easy flow of energy. The desire to be seen and heard in Leo formulates the emotional need to know our place. Confident, loud, warm and with heart.
