🌕The Meaning of the Full Moon in Sagittarius
🔥 We switch up the ante with a fire Full Moon in the sign of the archer. This one will trouble us for some time with its opposition to Uranus, Sextile to Pluto, and Trine to both Neptune and Saturn. Ruler being Jupiter. All the big players are on the pitch!
Prepare to pick your target, fire with precision and an unquenchable thirst for adventure, truth and knowledge.
Ruled by the solar system's largest planet, Sagittarius tends to expand energy outwards.
There's knowledge, learning, teaching, travelling, intuiting and looking for meaning. All areas ripe for exploring under this Full Moon.
Sag is big, loud and perpetually-evolving. A place where the more we know; the less we realise we knew. There's a thirst to be more, take in more, see more and wisen more.
As a fire sign, Sag is action-orientated. Unafraid to step up and out. To scour the globe looking for itself. A wise philosopher that uses an internal map. Our archer can walk miles if his arrow is shot. This need to explore is not simply physical, its deeply mental too. Expansion is in everything and Sag's love to know. But their greatest gift (bar being naturally joyful) is their ability to just know. Intuition is left brain. No proof. No formula. It's at a level far beyond that.
This Full Moon looks to:
Force sudden truths (likely emotional with Jupiter in Cancer).
Expand us by surprise (could be an errant thought, conversation, find or read).
Remind us of the joy of the quest.
Show us the map to our greatest need.
Break us out of tight spaces.
As per all Full Moons, this is a completion/culmination/ending event.
YouTube:
Where is your life pointing you now?
What direction feels alive, even if it scares you?
What adventure beckons?
This energy pushes you beyond the familiar. It exposes where you’ve been settling, circling, or rationalising. Sagittarius is the archetype of the seeker. It wants truth, freedom, and emotional honesty. It wants you to stop pretending you don’t know what you know.
So stop pretending.
🌑 The Shadow Side of Sagittarius
Exaggeration, lacking moderation
Running instead of holding
Impulsive choices
Spiritual bypassing
Over‑identifying with a belief
Sagittarius shadow is the urge to leap without looking — or to flee when things get real. This Moon asks for truth with grounding, not truth as escape.
🔄 Sun at (9°) Gemini and the Sag - Gem Axis:
While Gemini lives in the linear world of local gossip, facts, names, places and labelling. Sag lives in the left-brain world of intuition, meaning and philosophy.
Sag is more selective with knowledge. If it isn't meaningful or expansive, it's just dross.
Gemini likes to fill itself up, never pausing to simmer or integrate.
Still, it does tire and that's when the noise eases enough for the starlight to reveal that beautiful truth.
The idea as always is to cut to the quick of belief systems. Uranus also loves to challenge what 'appears rigid.
This Full Moon is the moment where the emotional truth (Sagittarius) breaks through the mental noise (Gemini).

Let's look at the chart for the Full Moon in Sagittarius

Ruler Jupiter at (23°) Cancer
We have Jupiter, the ruler of the Full Moon and also Venus in the sign of Cancer.
In Cancer our emotions expand, our needs can overwhelm and our wound is more keenly felt. Jupiter is in a square with Chiron in Aries at the anaretic 29th degree. It's like we are more open to healing our emotional body, yet that opening is akin to a crab stretching out of the shell. How safe will it be?
Jupiter can bless us with reckless fortune that feels like we will gain riches, yet the self-protective Cancer knows there are very... potentially painful risks. Still, Jupiter beckons like rays of sunshine. Stretch dear one. You'll never know warmth if you hide yourself.
Opposite Uranus at (2°) Aquarius
Uranus continues to play into the New and Full Moons, which means that we can expect more buzzes, ahas, sky-level thoughts and jaggly nerves (gee, thanks). This is 'upgrade' energy as we vie to locate our authenticity beneath layers and layers of categorisation, data and chitter-chatter. Words are whirl winds and everyone has an opinion. Uranus zings us with truth and as Sag is co-truth sayer, our thoughts must now align with the meaningful direction we are moving toward, that is in alignment with our truth.
Keep your hear in those conversations and your eye on the words because something may click with lightening speed. You won't want to miss out if your higher mind tower wishes to fast-forward your knowing.
Trine Saturn at (12°) Aries and Neptune at (4°) Aries
Here's where things get kinda interesting. A flowing aspect such as this carries a lot of weight (but with ease). If Jupiter now knows where its heading, then Saturn is going to help make it stone-proof. There's no messing with Saturn. It commits and honours the work. Plain and simple. In Aries there could be self-judgement (not all trines are wholly positive). What lacked courage? What did you hold too long on?
Neptune is now 8 degrees away and free from the intense grip of Saturn. Like Sag, Neptune knows stuff. Not stuff you see. Stuff you feel. Stuff that isn't entirely logical and sensical. Neptune feels it and Sag knows it. If Uranus is sparking truth too, you can be darn sure its true from every angle.
Sextile Pluto at (5°) Aqua and Juno at (10°) Aqua
The final heavy Pluto is widening from Juno, but still conjunct. This time the psyche is reeling from the Aqua downloads. Pluto ensures it's soul-deep change, not just surface. Whatever isn't true will be roughly pushed over a cliff to hell.
Pluto's goal is always permanent change. The truth in this case, is a permanent 'fact'. Once you know, there's no turning back. Saturn ensures commitment, as does Juno. It may not be contractual in the physical sense, but it will feel binding for you.
📝 Questions for reflection
Use these prompts to align with the Full Moon in Sagittarius's energy:
What truth have I been avoiding because it would change everything?
Where am I being called to expand?
What belief or story no longer fits who I’m becoming?
What direction feels alive in my body?
What does freedom mean to me now?
What is the one step that would anchor this new direction?
Where am I confusing avoidance with intuition?
What am I finally ready to admit to myself?
🔥 Rituals
Own your truth
Natural laws are truth-buddies for Sag. The natural law IN YOU is your soul truth.
You can access it via your intuition.
Simply sit, take one deep breath and grab a notebook. Close your eyes and write.
No thinking. Use that intuition to guide your hand.
Your truth can be viewed and understood for consciousness expansion. To seal it, burn in a candle flame (Sag is a fire sign after all).
The horizon ritual
You can expand your own horizons by sensing within yourself what is becoming bigger and greater. Locate that intuition in your mind and sync it in your belly. As you breath out, feel yourself expanding more and more with every breath.
The truth‑telling release
List the beliefs or stories you’ve outgrown. Tear the list into pieces to release them.
Explore the outer reaches
When people say 'I'm exploring or looking for myself' they travel. Different eye-candy awakens understanding of culture, societies, communities, with commonalities and contrasts. Being somewhere far away can help us separate and renew within the act of exploration. We quest and become more.
